Dr. Ikramuddin Kamil, Consul General of Afghanistan in Mumbai, held a meeting with senior officials of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (Nhava Sheva) Customs to discuss matters related to facilitating Afghan exports to India.

The discussions focused on the release of consignments belonging to Afghan companies currently under customs review, transit arrangements for Afghan exports through Türkiye, and measures to mitigate the financial impact of demurrage charges on Afghan traders.

The Indian Customs authorities reaffirmed their commitment to processing consignments in accordance with the applicable customs laws of India and the SAFTA Rules of Origin.

Both sides underscored the importance of continued cooperation and constructive engagement to facilitate legitimate bilateral trade, address challenges faced by Afghan exporters, and further strengthen trade and economic relations between Afghanistan and India.
