Acting Consul General of Afghanistan in Mumbai Meets Regional Passport Officer & Head of Branch Secretariat

Mumbai, – Dr. Ikramuddin Kamil, Acting Consul General of Afghanistan in Mumbai, held an introductory meeting with Dr. Rajesh Gawande, Regional Passport Officer and Head of the Branch Secretariat of the Ministry of External Affairs in Mumbai.
During the meeting, Dr. Kamil reaffirmed Afghanistan’s commitment to fostering close cooperation and coordination with India in all areas of mutual interest. He expressed a strong desire to enhance bilateral relations, particularly in promoting people-to-people connections and facilitating trade and commerce.
Dr. Kamil emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for increased interactions between the peoples of Afghanistan and India, especially for business communities. He noted that the Afghan Consulate in Mumbai has already undertaken steps to support these objectives and is committed to introducing further facilitation measures to promote bilateral trade and investment.
Dr. Gawande assured the MEA’s continued support to the Afghan Consulate in Mumbai for effectively addressing relevant matters and advancing shared goals.
Both sides expressed optimism that the longstanding ties between Afghanistan and India would continue to strengthen through collaborative efforts and mutual understanding.
