Afghans residing in India who wish to obtain an Afghan passport must carefully follow the instructions outlined below.

REQUIREMENTS

The applicant must fill out the passport renewal form (Passport Form.pdf).

1 - In-Person Visit
The applicant MUST visit the Consulate General in person. NO PRIOR APPOINTMENT IS REQUIRED.
The applicant must fill out the passport renewal form (Passport Form.pdf).
Applications sent via post or submitted in the absence of the applicant will not be processed.
2 - Passport Fee
5 - Year Passport: USD 120
10 - Year Passport: USD 220
3 - Tazkira (Afghan National ID)
Applicants must provide their verified original Tazkira along with the application.
4 - Photographs
Three (3) recent passport-sized photographs (4x4.5 cm) with a white background.
5 - Children’s Passport Application
If a child was born in India and requires an Afghan passport, the following documents must be submitted by the parents:
Tazkira of Parents: Either the original or a copy of the parents’ Tazkira. The verification process applicable to adult applicants will also apply to the parents’ Tazkira
Child’s Birth Certificate: The original birth certificate attested by MEA must be presented along with the application.
6 - Proof of Current Address in India
The applicant must provide proof of address in India, which can be any of the following:
Copy of Visa
Copy of a utility bill (electricity, water, gas, etc.)
Driver’s license
Bank statement
