Consulate General of Afghanistan Engages with Southern Gujarat Business Community to Promote Trade and Investment Opportunities

The Consul General of Afghanistan, accompanied by Dr. Ikramuddin Kamil, held a productive meeting with the officials of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and members of the business community in Vadodara, Gujarat, on 5 January 2025.
The meeting focused on strengthening economic and commercial cooperation between Afghanistan and India, with particular emphasis on exploring new avenues for trade, investment, and business partnerships. During the interaction, the Consul General highlighted the growing investment opportunities available in Afghanistan across various sectors, including trade, agriculture, mining, infrastructure, transit, and regional connectivity.
The Consul General also briefed the participants on the current business environment and the measures being undertaken to facilitate commercial activities and foreign investment in Afghanistan. He encouraged Indian entrepreneurs and investors to explore Afghanistan’s strategic potential as a gateway connecting South Asia, Central Asia, and the broader region.
Members of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed the initiative and expressed interest in further enhancing economic engagement and business-to-business cooperation with Afghanistan.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to fostering stronger commercial ties and exploring mutually beneficial opportunities between the business communities of Afghanistan and India.
